Role Description

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Dispatch Coordinator will support data collection, communicate schedules with field technicians, and support the administrative activities of the dispatch office. This position operates on fixed shifts to support shift change activities. Shifts are Monday to Friday with some early morning and evening shifts as well as 4 hours each weekend. Approximately 40 hours/week.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain the master work schedule, including the assignment of people and equipment
  • Manage inbound ticket inquiries and assign emergency requests to applicable field technicians
  • Meet with technicians during shift changes, support inventory distribution, field computer management
    and other shift change activities
  • Track and record fleet maintenance scheduling and fleet availability
  • Coordinate records and utility locate requests for customers and projects
  • Check field time entries against work instructions
  • Process utility locate tickets in accordance with contract guidelines
  • Analyse mapping and utility locations against excavation requests using various mapping products
  • Work closely with contractors and stakeholders to exceed processing and communication timelines
  • Ensure work instructions and dispatch packages are prepared daily by region
  • Track and record performance statistics as needed
  • General office administrative tasks
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma required & intermediate computer skills required
  • 5 years’ experience supporting dispatch operations
  • Well organized and calm under pressure
  • Collaborative team player
  • Self-starting and able to act with little supervision
  • Strong customer service skills, especially by phone
