Concrete Scanning

multiVIEW Concrete Scanning helped pioneer early concrete scanning and concrete imaging techniques using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) in Ontario.  Today, multiVIEW's ground penetrating radar applications are vast, including concrete scanning for bridges, roads, buildings and other structures.  multiVIEW Concrete Scanning services are available throughout Ontario and Western Quebec, including the Ottawa Region, Greater Toronto Area, Central and Southwestern Ontario, Eastern Ontario and Greater Montreal.

Coring or cutting through concrete floors, walls or ceilings can be dangerous and costly if you don't know what lies beneath. multiVIEW has been scanning and imaging concrete for more than 25 years, working on thousands of projects across Southern and Central Ontario for customers that include plumbers, electricians, property developers, architects and construction contractors.

Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) is a non-invasive, non-destructive technique which is extremely effective for locating embedded features before customers saw, drill or break concrete.  This ensures on-site staff remain safe at all times during a project while eliminating the risk of cutting or damaging important elements within the concrete structure such as wire mesh, post tension cables, electrical conduits, utilities and more. multiVIEW Concrete Scanning can easily determine rebar spacing, rebar depth and concrete thickness prior to cutting or demolition.

As experts in the use of GPR and a long history working alongside construction professionals, multiVIEW Concrete Scanning technicians have the knowledge required to handle any task and any sized project. Our technicians will mobilize quickly throughout Ontario and assure a high accuracy rating.

Fast, reliable & safe

multiVIEW Concrete Scanning with GPR prevents damage to structural integrity by eliminating the need for repair or patching work.  It’s effective over a range of finishes including rubber membranes, granite, marble, carpet, asphalt, etc. meaning that these materials don’t need to be cut or removed before the scan occurs. Unlike X-Ray, multiVIEW's GPR does not emit harmful radiation and the concrete scan can be performed during regular work hours. It can be used to locate:

  • Metallic and plastic pipes and conduits
  • Rebar and rebar patterns
  • Post-tension cables
  • Utilities and live wires
  • Structural integrity of the concrete
  • Voids and deterioration within the concrete
  • Slab thickness

Real-time results

multiVIEW's GPR is the quickest and most cost-effective way to locate subsurface objects in concrete structures: results are available onsite and in real-time. Once captured, multiVIEW Concrete Scanning experts can process the data and where required, provide you with in-depth analysis including 3-D imaging so that you can get on with your project in confidence.  3D reinforcement bar and red power conduit shown in the concrete scan image below:
